Work on the project took four years, and construction costs amounted to 60 million euros, reports RevijaHAK. A beautiful underwater car park has opened in Amsterdam. It is open exclusively to cyclists, and with 7,000 spaces, the new garage is the largest in the city. Registration is contactless, the first 24 hours are free. Work on the project took four years, and construction costs amounted to 60 million euros. The garage is the last part of the extensive redesign of the large square in front of Amsterdam Central Station, which began in 2017. Above ground, the square has been cleared of cars, and below ground has been expanded with a new subway station. The new main station, like the old one, is completely surrounded by harbor water, and with the new garage, all bike racks in the station area will soon disappear to make the streets safer and cleaner. The garage is located under the water surface of the canal. Source: RevijaHAK Photo: Dutch Cycling Embassy source
