Def Leppard Drummer Rick Allen Suffers Injury After Attack Outside Florida Hotel

Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen was assaulted by a 19- year-old male beyond his hotel in Florida over the weekend, according to a Fort Lauderdale Police report gotten by Rolling Stone

Max Edward Hartley– an Ohio citizen checking out the Fort Lauderdale location– was detained and charged with 2 counts of battery, 4 counts of criminal mischief, and a count of abusing a senior or handicapped grownup after lunging at the artist “at a complete run” while beyond the Four Seasons hotel.

The relatively unprompted attack triggered the 59- year-old drummer– who deals with one arm due to a 1984 vehicle mishap– to “strike his head on the ground triggering injury,” per the report, seen by Rolling Stone Hartley was apparently enjoying the artist from “behind a pole” prior to the attack.

After striking Allen, Hartley supposedly struck another female who had actually come out to assist the artist. “While she is on the ground, the accused continues to damage her by striking her. [She] efforts to get away by encountering the hotel,” the report read. “The offender then gets [her] by her hair and drags her out of the lobby and back onto the pathway prior to running away the location.”

Hartley was detained near the Conrad hotel after he harmed “various lorries” in the parking lot, per the report. Allen supplied a sworn declaration to the cops and “revealed his desire” for prosecution.
