Numerous Bosnians and Herzegovinians, as well as tourists from all over Europe, will celebrate the May Day holidays in Neum, the only Bosnian town on the sea.
Neum hoteliers, but also motel owners and apartments are satisfied with the announcements and reservations and expect a record season.
A large number of guests have already been announced since the end of May, and an excellent season and postseason is expected until December.
— We have already booked almost all the capacities in July and August, and by the middle of May we believe that we will be fully booked for June as well. We are known for good cuisine, we have a rich offer, from Bosnian and Herzegovina specialties, to pasta and pizzas, to fish dishes for which we are known in Neum and the surrounding area– says the owner of Laguna, Dragan Njavro.
There was also a big crowd in the Sarajka bakery, which has been successfully run by the married couple Meliha and Jasmin Merdžanović for three years.
— I am the third generation in to a family that has a farm house. It all started with grandfather Safet, who ran a beer store across the street from RTV dom in Sarajevo. I have been in Neum for three years now and we are more than satisfied. People can’t believe that they can eat such good pie in Neum. We usually have guests from Dubrovnik and they bring kilos of pie. Of course, the recipe is a secret from grandfather Safet. We are proud of our burek, širnica, krompriusa and zeljanica. Today, there are a lot of Russians and Poles who are delighted with our pies – says Jasmin Merdžanović.
Sunny weather and a temperature of about 20 degrees were a sign that the swimming season had started. . Tourists from Russia, a dozen of them, had no problem swimming for almost an hour. As they say, this is too hot a time for them. While they were bathing, guests from BiH filmed everything, and only the bravest dared to enter the sea and swim.
