Is Rafael Nadal changing careers? He spoke of his end!

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal entered the hotel industry. Although he himself talked about the end of the tennis field, he is not going to do so for the time being, and the hotels will thus be more of a supplement than a replacement for his sports earnings.

The winner of a record 22 Grand Slam tournaments founded a chain called Zel together with the Meliá group, which wants to build more than twenty hotels around the world in the next five years. The chain’s hotels are said to be inspired by the “Mediterranean lifestyle” and the first is due to open next year in Mallorca, where Nadal is from. Other hotels should grow in metropolises such as Paris, London or Madrid. The 36-year-old Nadal said that entering the hotel business will not affect his star career. “I’m trying to delay my retirement as long as possible,” said the longtime world number one, who won 92 ATP tournaments. Nadal has earned over 130 million dollars during his career alone in awards.
