MT Credit Unions debate innovation and sustainability during Forum

The event will be held by the OCB/MT System this Tuesday (10/25) in Cuiabá with representatives of the Central Bank and Mapa

The OCB/MT System will hold the Forum of Cooperatives Credit Branch, tomorrow, October 25th, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (MT time), at the hotel Deville– Cuiabá/ MT, where topics on innovation and sustainability will be addressed, as pillars for the development of credit cooperatives .

Mato Grosso has 18 credit unions registered in the OCB/MT System, with 256 branches, where together they have 274 physical branches, located in 126 municipalities in Mato Grosso, 40 of which have only cooperatives as a financial institution. In the last three years, the number of cooperative members grew by 68%, ending 2021, according to data from the OCB/MT System, with 885,182 cooperative members and the increase in employees by 32%, recording the generation of 5,831 direct jobs. The systems operating in Mato Grosso are Sicredi (Centro Norte), Sicoob (MT/MS and Credisul), CrediSIS (Primacredi), Unicred and Cresol.

To discuss credit cooperatives, the Forum will have the participation of the President of the OCB System, Márcio Lopes de Freitas; Harold Espínola, Head of the Supervision Department for Cooperatives and Non-Banking Institutions– Desuc/BCB; Ênio Meinem, author of the book “Financial Cooperation in the 2020s: without filters” and Director of Systemic Coordination and Relations at Sicoob; Vagner Cunha, Open Finance Strategy Manager at Bip Brasil; José Angelo Mazzillo Júnior- Assistant Secretary for Agricultural Policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA); César Miranda, Secretary of Economic Development of Mato Grosso; Cleiton Gauer– Superintendent of Imea; among other leaders.
