Hatred took over the sport on Saturday in Amsterdam. More than 150 supporters were arrested by the Dutch cops for singing anti-Semitic chants before a match between Ajax and Alkmaar, the cops said. The facts took place at a metro station near the Johan Cruijff Arena, where Ajax plays, around 5:30 p.m. The match took place anyway “The supporters were asked several times to stop singing” before proceeding to the arrests, added the cops. According to AT5 radio, the 154 supporters arrested were from Alkmaar, which the authorities did not confirm. The match took place and ended in a 0-0. Ajax Amsterdam is often associated with the city’s Jewish community, not least because some of its managers and players in the 1960s and 1970s were Jewish. source
