Puy du Fou asks businessmen to invest in hotel rooms in the city of Toledo

The director of the Puy du Fou Spain theme park, Erwan de la Villéon, has asked the hoteliers of Toledo to invest and build more hotel rooms, since the availability of beds in the local capital remains small to receive all visitors who pass through the park facilities. To questions from the media after a press conference to present the new season, De la Villéon pointed out that “there are a lack of places”, for which reason he urged an increase in the portfolio of beds.

In any case, he has said that the park maintains its initial intention of not building its own accommodation as it does in the initial park of Puy du Fou in France. “There are many people who come and cannot stay, and in the end they only go to Toledo for one day and cannot enjoy the city”, he lamented.

Likewise, he pointed out that 80 % of park visitors also end up visiting the city. “Toledo is a jewel, a sleeping beauty. If you have hotel friends, tell them to build, please”, he indicated.

The Puy du Fou Spain park presented this Monday morning in Madrid the new season, which will start on April 1, with the objective this year is to exceed 1,100,000 visitors, and with a new great show, ‘El Misterio de Sorbaces’, inspired by Recaredo, the Visigothic king whose crown was never found.

The event took place between the iconic Plaza de Colón and the National Archaeological Museum, where a large part of Guarrazar’s Visogothic treasure is located.

To questions from the media after a press conference, the director of the park, Erwan de la Villéon, has indicated that after having overcome the pandemic restrictions and after the good results of 2022, they have spoken with the main shareholders to reach this agreement.

After remembering that in 2022 there were finally 900,000 visitors received, 100,000 more than expected, and with the good progress of the new campaign last Christmas, investor confidence has crystallized in this increase in capital.

According to what he said, the park “requires” that investment and the artistic team is already working on the great shows of the coming years.

In addition, it proposes to expand the new town of Villanueva del Corral and turn it into a great gastronomic space. In 2026, in addition, “a great immersive show” will be designed for visitors.
