Three children aged 12, 10 and 2 remained under the protection of the Colombian Institute for Family Welfare (ICBF). years that they were in a state of abandonment in a hotel in the city of Neiva.
After knowing the facts, the ICBF appointed a team of Family Advocacy verified the rights of the three minors who were opened the Administrative Process for the Restoration of Rights (PARD), taking placement in a Substitute Home as a preventive measure.
“Parents should be the main guarantors of the rights of children and adolescents. Let’s strengthen affective ties by promoting protective environments free of any type of violence,” said Luz Elena Gutiérrez, local director of the ICBF in Huila.
The ICBF calls on the public to report any act that threatens the integrity of children and adolescents.
